Version log

Everything that changed on Dune 2000 Online, from version 1.0 to 1.8: game, wiki, forum and site tools.

Current version v1.8 October 29, 2026

v1.8

October 29, 2026 latest
  • Game
One construction at a time While the Construction Yard builds, the whole menu is greyed out — buildings, walls and slabs — until the work is done. Sell stays available on any finished building's sheet.
  • Game
Build even with no credits A structure can be placed with an empty purse: the site waits for credits and resumes on its own. Only concrete, poured at once, still needs its full price.
  • Audio
Battle music at the right moment Battle themes no longer start before the enemy does: an enemy unit has to be actually spotted, in your field of view or on the radar. A foe still under the fog triggers nothing.
  • Game
Radar: no more black holes Explored ground stays on the minimap, even after a slowdown or coming back to the tab. Lit tiles and remembered ground read differently again, as in the original.

v1.7

October 29, 2026
  • Site
Email announcements News now reaches your inbox: an email in the game look, in your language, with a personal unsubscribe link that leaves your account and private messages untouched.
  • Site
Version log This page: every release wave, what it changes for players, and the current version. No more guessing what moved.
  • Site
One-click unsubscribe A signed link, no password, that only touches announcements. Private-message alerts and password emails stay active, as they should.

v1.6

October 2026
  • Game
The Fremen New playable house: Fremen infantry at the barracks (after an upgrade), Sonic Tanks from the heavy factory and Ornithopters from the palace. Their troops walk the rock paths where vehicles stop.
  • Game
The Mercantile Guild Cousin to the Ordos, in yellow: Harkonnen Devastators and Atreides Sonic Tanks, Guild siege tanks from the palace, and never an Ornithopter. An arsenal like no other.
  • Game
In-game chat Press C to open chat, in multiplayer and immersive modes. Messages travel through the match room — allies and opponents read them.
  • Audio
Sardaukar voices Sam recorded the Sardaukar: announcements, reinforcements and battle lines, with his name in the contributor credits.
  • Game
Starport and match options Carry-Alls are finally for sale at the Starport, and prices follow supply and demand. Sandworms and crates can be toggled when creating a game, in every mode.
  • Game
AI and harvesters Carry-Alls deliver harvesters to the refinery again, harvesters no longer abandon their field after a scare, and the AI keeps building and defending over the long run.

v1.5

October 2026
  • Game
Redrawn desert Sand, rocks and heavy rock now follow proper cardinal edges: borders connect, rock fields read at a glance.
  • Game
Paths and rocks Paths can be walked, rocks never driven. Hold a pass with infantry, or go around a fortress.
  • Game
Slabs and craters A fight on a concrete slab damages it: the slab breaks and leaves a crater, as in the original.
  • Performance
Performance Huge maps, immense mode and phones: rendering, radar and simulation got lighter without touching the art.

v1.4

October 2026
  • Wiki
Wiki comments Every unit, building and house has a public page: player comments, replies, avatars, view counts. The pills at the top filter players who are online and in a match.
  • Wiki
Full profiles Your profile gathers your forum topics and your comments, with stats for the units and buildings you follow.
  • Site
Contributor badges People who gave their time carry a Contributor badge on their profile and the forum — voices, development, helping hands.
  • Site
Private messages Message reactions, deletion that leaves a “message deleted” tombstone, and a “typing…” hint in the thread and the conversation list.

v1.3

October 2026
  • Wiki
The game wiki Full sheets for units, buildings and houses: role, stats, lore and cross-links, in the site's four languages with localised addresses.
  • Audio
Sheet music Every sheet carries a track from the game, with fade in and out — and a button to turn it off.
  • Site
Search visibility Share previews, structured data, breadcrumbs and a sitemap: the wiki can now be found from a search engine.
  • Site
Contribute page The work behind the game, Interac donations and the contributor credit, all explained in one place.

v1.2

October 2026
  • Game
Multiplayer and immersion Real-time rooms with up to ten simultaneous matches, and an immersive mode where every King holds a territory of Arrakis.
  • Game
Spectator mode Follow a running match live, with scoreboards and the map moving in real time.
  • Game
Radar and walls The minimap covers the whole terrain, the right way round, and walls finally meet cleanly at their corners.
  • Audio
Sound and music Random battle music that actually plays the whole repertoire, per-house sounds, and localised voices where available.

v1.0

October 24, 2026
  • Game
The game, in the browser The 1998 classic rebuilt for the web: four houses, campaigns against the AI, spice harvesting, sandworms. Nothing to install.
  • Site
Accounts and forum Sign-up, public profiles, a player directory, a forum with topics and replies: the community has its ground.
